If you love records, take your other love (the human one) to A1 Records to browse, buy, sell, or trade some vinyl. This spot is all about records, which is clear from the moment you enter and are met with rows and rows of vinyl, and all four walls (plus the ceiling) plastered with album art. The place is deeper than it looks, so really get in there and explore their especially well stocked R&B, jazz, and rock sections. The place is owned by two knowledgeable brothers, so if you catch them there, strike up a conversation. We love that they have turntables so you can check out the sound before you buy.

Keep the old school vibe going with drinks at Sophie’s, a locally beloved dive bar standing in the way of total gentrification in this area. The decor is pretty basic with wood tables and dim lighting, dressed up with some interesting art on the walls. The drinks here are beautifully cheap, with some pints costing you just $4. There’s also a jukebox, pool table, and a few arcade games in the back to whittle away the hours.
