If you’ve ever wanted to embark on a legitimate, on-foot adventure together, you’re in luck. Accomplice is a participatory adventure theater in which you and your S.O. are in the center of the action. In the span of three hours, you’ll be sent traveling through Lower Manhattan on a unique mission with improv actors to help create the scene (think David Fincher’s The Game—without Michael Douglas). Don’t expect to know much else going into it, as part of the fun is in the discovery. So, assuming your curiosity is piqued, start times run every half hour between 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., tickets are $80 each, and the game kicks off 18 to 48 hours beforehand with a phone call or email to tell you everything you need to know. #GoodLuck.
Once you’ve successfully uncovered the mystery at Accomplice, head to The Smile for a significantly less adventurous dining experience. Serving up Mediterranean and American fare (start with the marinated goat cheese and order the seared flank steak for your entree), this NoHo restaurant is all about the rustic aesthetic, with stone and brick walls, reclaimed wood floors and ceilings, and weathered industrial windows complementing the low-key bistro charm. It’s the perfect contrast (and come-down) from this date night’s earlier activities.
