Bad news! This plan has expired. Go check out some great new ideas here.
Bar Akariba is one of those lovely hole-in-the-walls perfect for trying something new or out of your comfort zone—namely, pre-dinner oysters and sake. This serene watering hole pairs sake and original shochu-based (Japanese vodka) cocktails with a fresh selection of oysters. Select food items from their sister restaurant, Zenkichi, are available a la carte, as well as a few items that are for Akariba guests only. We love exclusivity. Starting your night off surrounded by greenery and flickering candles while sipping delicate drinks and slurping aphrodisiac oysters? We're there.
For your main meal, we recommend walking over to Cantina Royal and switching cuisines/cultures entirely to Mexican. The vibe is just as romantic as Part I, with a gigantic, stunning chandelier in the center of the room, perfect tables for two outside on the sidewalk, and a warm, red glowing light blanketing the entire atmosphere. They also have a back lounge called La Sala that features experimental art and music performances. The reason we keep coming back, however, is the authenticity of the experience. Their website says it all: "Owned by Mexicans, run by Mexicans, and cooked by Mexicans."
