Tucked in on Restaurant Row in the heart of New York’s theater district, Don’t Tell Mama is an only-in-New-York kind of venue with four individual spaces: a piano bar, a restaurant and 2 separate cabaret showrooms. Check their calendar here for all upcoming shows. We love Don't Tell Mama for many reasons—but most of all, because when you're sitting in a show there, drink in hand, they somehow create the most Broadway-y, open and loving atmosphere between the audience. A good place.
For dinner beforehand, try Bea, a brick-lined bar and restaurant with simple and fair-priced American dishes. Request a table in their back room atrium. The large, light-strung tree reaching towards the windowed-ceilings is a nice backdrop for dinner.
