This Retro Salon-Themed Bar That Has A Martini And Manicure Special

A good date doesn't need to be super fancy, so here's one for you to add to your low-maintenance list. Start your night at Beauty Bar, a retro salon-themed bar near Union Square. The place feels slightly dive-y, but with glittery walls and hair drying chairs against the wall, you'll know instantly this isn't your average dive. You can actually even get your nails done with their Martinis and Manicure happy hour special, where $10 gets you a drink and a basic manicure. They also have a larger space in the back with a dance floor where they play a mix of modern chart toppers and oldies dance hits on weekends.
For a late night snack, head over to Baohaus, a small spot that puts a twist on bao buns by filling them with delicious Taiwanese-Chinese inspired bites like all natural fried chicken and tofu. Started by brothers Evan and Eddie Huang, the latter wrote the book that inspired the sitcom Fresh Off the Boat. Our advice? Order a bunch of baos and a side of taro fries.
