Try An Exclusive Peking Duck Ramen At This Murray Hill Spot
If you're a couple that takes an interest in Danish design, a multi-cultural menu, and cocktails—Bedford and Co. is the place for you. Chef DeLucie set out to create a menu that stemmed from his culinary experiences traveling around the globe. He prepares many of his dishes over a wood-burning open grill as a tribute to Argentinian cooking techniques. The restaurant and dining room are housed inside the Renwick Hotel and have a midcentury modern feel with polished wood walls, Eames chairs, and geometric light fixtures. Definitely a favorite with the brunch set, (mostly for its bottomless brunch) Bedford & Co. is an equally good option for a drink and bar snack in one of the cozy nooks before you head over to Momosan for ramen and sake.
Momosan Ramen and Sake, by the famed Masaharu Morimoto, is hands down one of the best restaurants you'll find in Murray Hill and one of the best ramen restaurants in New York full stop. Chef Morimoto says that he has developed "a special type of noodle that is more resistant"—and it shows. The noodles hold their texture in the rich and savory broth, allowing you to enjoy your ramen longer. Expect classics like Tonkotsu soup on the menu, along with Tantan, a spicy coconut curry broth. You'll be offered a selection of over 40 kinds of sake, served at a range of temperatures from cold, to room temp, to warm and hot—they encourage you to try a few different ones and enjoy a whole new flavor profile. Ask your server if the exclusive Peking duck ramen is available (it only happens twice a week) or the Gyukotsu ramen featuring a seven-hour braised beef that only serves 20 lucky diners a day.
