Egg's Table of Contents Reading Series Is Really Special
Say what you will about Williamsburg and its hipsters takeover, but you can’t deny that the neighborhood knows its arts, culture, and coffee. Get a shot of joe at Blue Bottle, where the pour overs are perfectly steeped, and the cafe—on the bottom floor of a 1930s industrial building—offers an expansive food menu. If you're looking to try something new this evening, we love the New Orleans-Style iced coffee, which is creamy with caramelized flavors of chicory root.
Once the caffeine kicks in, head to Egg Restaurant, a Southern restaurant that sources its food from its own farm upstate in Hudson Valley. Their mission is to have customers leave feeling "satisfied, energized, inspired, and resilient". Not only do they serve breakfast all day (the biscuits and gravy are almost criminally good), but they also host a regular Table of Contents Reading Series where local writers grace you with their beautiful prose. After, Egg’s very own chef Evan Hanczor will lead a discussion on writing, cooking, and nostalgia, so you and your lover can flex your intellectual muscles alongside literary and culinary greats. Check out upcoming dates here. Tickets are $20.
