Stack your date with two iconic cultural institutions and catch an incredible live jazz performance at Blue Note Jazz Club. It's definitely the place you've seen just off of 6th avenue with the line around the corner. It draws some of the largest crowds in the city—and for good reason. Blue Note has welcomed the likes of Stevie Wonder, Tony Bennett, and Quincy Jones up on its stage. Tables wrap around the platform, ensuring an intimate performance and rich sound. Check their calendar to see what catches your eye, but know that whatever has been booked is well worth the cover.

Come hungry and kick it old school at neighborhood gem Fedora. The space is small but never feels cramped, and nights here tend to feel like a private party. The menu boasts creative dishes with character and includes lighter options like arctic char ceviche and an endive and radicchio salad. We recommend dishes like the pork belly and braised short ribs if you are in the mood for indulging. If you’re a fan of the classics, order the Black Squirrel Old Fashioned. It’s Fedora’s interpretation of the beloved standby, and arguably one of the best in the city.
