Do you and your partner get lost in the romantic ballrooms of classic cinema? Do you yearn for the elegance and glamor of Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire? Well, put on your dancing shoes and step into the past with Brooklyn Swings. Every Tuesday night at 7 p.m., Brooklyn Swings offers beginners swing dance classes at the Trinity Grace Church for $17/person. In just one hour, you’ll evolve from the basic shuffle step to full song routines. And if you’re hungry for more, you and your partner can sign up for a full month of classes for just $50/person (a pretty sweet deal if you ask us). Check their website here for future classes, events and more.

After you've worked up a sweat (and maybe an appetite) on the dance floor, head over to Reclamation Bar on Metropolitan for cocktails and Tex-Mex. “A new bar made from old things,” the bar is true to its name, with antique chandeliers bathing the crescent wooden bar and distressed turquoise walls in a golden glow. Try one of their twists on a classic cocktail, like the Hibiscus Mule (Belvedere Vodka, hibiscus, lime juice, ginger beer) or the White Negroni (gin, Suze, Cocchi Americano). Howlin’ Taco, the pop-up kitchen located inside the bar, offers Austin-style Mexican food, specializing in breakfast tacos; so unless you’re a breakfast-for-dinner kind of couple, we’d recommend the chips & any of the dips to share, or the nachos if you’re feeling ravenous.
