This Greenpoint Wine Bar Is About As Close as You Can Get to Napa Valley on the East Coast
If you know wine, you know that California produces some of the best in the US—in some cases, the world. Coast and Valley, a new wine bar in Greenpoint, is focused on bringing that wine to the East Coast and pairing it with a clean, fresh menu. The setting is simplified elegance at its best, with a modern aesthetic and minimalist color palette (think beechwood chairs and polished cement flooring). The wines are available by the glass in an effort to mimic the wine-tasting experiences the founders had on the West Coast. The food menu reads with a California influence, too, with entrées like poached chicken with avocado and charred cucumber with ginger-buttermilk sauce, and desserts looking like olive-oil cake with plum sauce and vanilla-bean crème fraîche.
It's all about the good times at The Palace, a female-owned and -operated dive bar, tucked away just enough to keep it a secret from the crowds looking for a “cool” place to drink and dance. The Palace is the bar you’ve been looking for your entire adult life—an awesome DJ, a chill crowd, a D-Floor reminiscent of the ones you’d find at a house party, and zero pretentious attitudes. Did we mention really good drinks and service? The best end to your best night.
