Get Your Underrated Art Fix at Dia:Chelsea

  • Art
  • Drinks

First, get your art fix at Dia:Chelsea. This beloved art foundation is a temporary home to some of the most complex works of art around—whether in the form of physical artwork, exhibitions, performances, or the like. There are currently some must-see exhibitions at Dia, you can see them all here. Holding hands while staring at beautiful things is one textbook romantic necessity. Do it justice by visiting Dia. If you’re ever craving a road trip, definitely consider taking the train up to Beacon, NY for their rural location, aptly named Dia:Beacon.

Once you’ve satisfied some senses at Dia:Chelsea, cover the others at Don Giovanni Ristorante. This Italian restaurant has a classic, rustic aesthetic, with a black-and-white color palette complemented by old-fashioned photography hung from the walls. There’s a level of subdued sophistication here, and it’s especially present in the coal-grilled Neapolitan pies and other traditional Italian dishes—from the pear & truffle oil-based Caprina to some legitimately perfect lobster raviolis. Just be sure to start your meal with their sesame seed bruschetta. Tiramisu is basically a textbook Italian sweet, but you need to seriously not overlook their homemade Tiramisu perfection.
