DOMODOMO has always been innovative. What started as the first handroll bar in the city has continued to blossom, receiving the Michelin Bib Gourmand award several years in a row for its well-priced tasting menu and a la carte menu of hot and cold dishes as well as its raw bar. The ever-changing Domokase menu serves up interesting combinations to keep diners coming back and satiated. There’s a scallop dashi risotto, roasted cauliflower with green pea miso spread, garlic bacon fried rice, and, of course, more traditional plates and fresh handrolls. Despite its large capacity between two dining areas and a bar, the dimly-lit modern design lends itself to an intimate dining experience.
Next, head over for a sweet treat at Georgetown Cupcake, which closes at 9 p.m. every night except Sunday (8 p.m.). Its first and only outpost in New York offers its famous extensive menu of tasty cupcakes. The beautifully decorated cupcakes come in a variety of flavors, and the shop features unique daily and monthly specials, such as the green tea buttercream with lemon cake. Pro tip: check out Georgetown Cupcake’s social media for its daily secret cupcake flavors. There are also vegan and gluten-free options, like the vegan apple cinnamon cupcake with vegan cream cheese frosting and the gluten-free chocolate salted caramel cupcake. A barista also serves up hot and cold drinks—apparently, the latte is the way to go. Grab one of the few seats in the shop and enjoy.
