Drink At Bed-Stuy's Retro Hangout, Then Catch The Jelly at C'mon Everybody
After watching the sunset with friends, head to Fancy Nancy, Bed-Stuy’s “retro hangout,” complete with technicolor dishware and playfully nostalgic cocktail names. On the “Glamour Drink” menu, you can go full-on film noir with the Femme Fatale (dry gin, fino sherry, bitter vermouth, olive brine, $11), or ‘70s dancing queen with The (Legendary) Hustle (“all the rums,” pineapple, lime, tiki spices, “slurred speech,” $13). The food is upscale comfort food (like what your friends were serving on their rooftop, but better). Most popular are the Fancy Burger 2.0 (with peppercorn cheese sauce and red-eye onions, $16) and the Famous Veggie Burger (an “Impossible Burger” with herb mayo, pickled onions, shredded onion, and American cheese, $16), both served with fries.
Next, stroll around the corner to the local music venue staple C’mon Everybody for their epic monthly jam session, The Jelly. On the first Monday of every night, New York’s most talented players in funk and soul gather to feature a local artist, playing 8-10 piece original renditions of the guest’s own music. Tickets are just $5 in advance or $8 at the door.
