Galleries Are Open After Hours With Free Booze Once a Month in Dumbo
DUMBO is one of Brooklyn’s newer epicenters of art and creativity, where converted warehouses are home to many of the city's artist residency programs and organizations. On the "First Thursday Gallery Walk," you can create your own art adventure, and take a peek at a variety of galleries after hours. The galleries will play host to special events and receptions (read: wine and beer)—and everyone knows it's automatically cooler to be in a place that's not normally open when darkness falls.
After a few free drinks and a little wandering around, you'll be ready for dinner. Enter Celestine: it just might be the most romantic restaurant in Brooklyn. The Middle Eastern menu lends itself to shared plates like the house-made flatbread, luscious pistachio feta spread, or the grilled octopus; the cocktail menu follows suit, borrowing a few herbs and spices from the food menu. Beautifully designed, Celestine marries casual chic with upscale contemporary. We say go for the 3-course family style prix fixe—it's $70/person.
