Design Your Own Dessert, Scientist-Style
The reason the little pocket around Mulberry Street is called Little Italy is because it was once a marketplace where the freshest Italian ingredients and products were showcased. Gelso & Grand brings that culture back to the hood by sourcing local produce and hand-rolling all of their pastas in-house. The corner space has an industrial chic vibe, with loads of exposed brick, big floor to ceiling windows that stay open when weather allows, and a vast outdoor seating area.
It’s no surprise that TEA I Y is on our radar for date night since it's a tea bar that offers up both an activity and a delicious dessert to end your night. First, select a tea and a syrup, then select your dessert, and finally something to inject or top it off with. All orders come with picture instructions and everything is done right at your table. The space is clean and modern, and since it's science-themed, it's all served up in cute beakers on sterile metal trays with syringes to inject your syrups and juices. Keep your eyes open for Chromism, a drink that changes colors through the DIY process.
