A Hard-To-Find Chinatown Gem, Plus An Incredibly Underrated Movie Theater

Authentic and tasty Chinese food in Chinatown at Golden Unicorn, which, if you live in New York, is not as easy to find as it seems (needle in a haystack, people) combined with a fantastic new theater in Chinatown called Metrograph (check their list of screenings tonight here), and having a nightcap above the theater before you go home.
Golden Unicorn is an experience. It can be tough to find despite its flashing name. You’ll walk into what feels like a work building with a host standing at a podium who then directs you into an elevator upstairs to a red & gold scene from the 80s in the best way. Try whatever dim sum you can get your hands on. P.s., the waiters may seem frustrated and busy, but the service is really quick and the food is worth it.
Then, Metrograph. The candy wall of your childhood dreams lives here, and you’re both bound to find what your sweet tooth is craving. Aside from the candy (priorities, loves) the screenings are always unique and curated. Pro tip: either before or after your film, hit the restaurant & bar upstairs which feels like a totally separate amazing place to hang out in Chinatown. But, alas, they are one magnificent combo.
