Step Behind This Oyster Bar Nantucket Would Be Proud of for a Night of Top-Notch Stand-Up

If you need a mental beach day, go to Grey Lady. This meticulously weathered oyster bar in the Lower East Side pays homage to the East Coast’s Holy Trinity (Nantucket, Cape Cod, and Martha’s Vineyard) from an aesthetic and culinary point. Visually, the faded coastal hues, thick manila rope tiebacks, and a wall of decorative mirrors that may as well have been peeled straight out of a ‘Sconset cottage do the New England coast proud. But then there's the menu, and the sea-centric items are amazing on their own, but all bow to the raw bar, Grey Lady’s pride and joy.

Once you’ve eaten, the next stop is literally steps away. Just head to the speakeasy-esque back room of the Grey Lady for the Baby Shower Comedy Show hosted by Charlie Gliwa and Tobin Miller. Specifically targeted at lovebirds in NYC looking for some laughs while they (a.k.a. you) are out on the town, the Baby Shower Comedy Show only settles for the best in modern stand-up, including comedians who have been featured on Netflix, Comedy Central, HBO, and other mainstream outlets. The space is intimate, the crowd is limited, and the overall vibe feels exclusive, making for a really special comedy experience in one of New York City’s most creative neighborhoods.
