It’s a drinks-before-dinner kind of date night, and it starts at American spot Gristmill. Gristmill redefines weird and makes it cool, with locally-sourced, fresh ingredients. Start the evening with their Sassy Apple (vodka, apple brandy, cider caramel, lemon) or with the M'Suze (bourbon, suze, alta verde amaro). Not feeling the alcohol tonight? No worries—they have a great set of non-alcoholic drinks made with idk-approved Seedlip bevs i.e. non-alcoholic spirits. We're personally fans of the Yass Queen (Seedlip grove, honey, and lemon).
Then head to Runner & Stone for some highly delectable New American cuisine. With a gorgeously rusted exterior and a raw, rustic interior that perfectly complements the menu—namely with dishes like their carrot lumache and braided ricotta ravioli—Runner & Stone will have you hooked. It’s a quaint, but distinguished locale, made all the better with a small, but satisfying, specialty cocktails list, including the classier-than-it-sounds Stoner’s Delight (highlight: the rhubarb preserves base) and the sweet and peppery Frisky Bumblebee.
