Try The 5th Best Restaurant In America Before Cheersing Cider In Brooklyn
Bad news! This plan has expired. Go check out some great new ideas here.
For a modern spin on Mediterranean cuisine, check out Hart’s. They were ranked the 5th best restaurant in America by Bon Appetít in 2017. Sorry, did we bury the lead? In this cozy, minimalist restaurant, Hart’s creative palette applies as much to this bistro’s physical design as it does the food. With a massive ceiling dressed in matte black beams and vanity bulbs, white brick walls, and pops of orange in the booths and quirky hanging planters, Hart’s walks a fine line between quaint and creative. Be sure to order the fried chicken saltimbocca for dinner and the olive oil cake with whipped cream and berries for dessert.
After dinner, take an arm-in-arm stroll over to Bad Seed. This solely-cider taproom offers up a wide variety of grownup apple juice, ranging from dry options and hoppier IPCs to fruity blends and specialty Bourbon Barrel batches. The bar itself is open, but intimate, with rustic-industrial charm (see: a mix of brick and patterned reclaimed wood walls—from apple crates, no less—a cozy back patio, and caged Edison pendant lights strung over the sleek and polished bar top). Even if you’re not entirely partial to sweet libations, you’ll find something here that’ll no doubt satisfy.
