Eat Pizza, Stroll The Highline, And Drink Delicious Beer Made In-House
For a great slice in Chelsea, head over to Highline Pizzeria. Don’t be fooled by the simple exterior—this is classic, old school New York pizza done right. When you walk in you’ll be greeted by a few tables, a thin counter, and likely the owners themselves serving up slices. The slices are thin crust, and while they’ve got a plain slice on lock, the grandma pie comes heavily recommended. This spot is right under the Highline, so grab your slices to go and eat them while you stroll.
Grab a drink afterward at the mellow Death Ave. Don’t be spooked by the name, inside this gastropub is a rustic, vintage vibe with an exposed wood bar, mini casks of ale, and nice touches like gilded mirrors and iron-wrought light fixtures. They also have a charming back patio for warmer days. If you get the munchies post-pizza, try the unusual cod sliders. They have some cocktails but more importantly, their beers are made in house (!!!) and guaranteed to be unique and delicious. We're about it.
