One Of Our Favorite Live Music Venues Is Prohibition On The Upper West Side
Start this fun UWS night out at Calle Ocho where the high energy and excitable atmosphere is only matched by their fabulous mojitos. Located inside the Excelsior Hotel, you know you’re in for a fun night as soon as you step down into the colorful space. We love their selection of tiradito (a Peruvian dish cut into the shape of sashimi in a spicy sauce) and ceviche—don’t start your dinner without trying at least one. Executive chef Jorge Adriazola has designed this Nuevo Latino menu mostly around seafood—we love the seared red snapper and the paella. But you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
Next, Prohibition is one of our favorite live music venues—and what makes it even more of a gem is that there are few and far between on the Upper West Side. From the occasional Broadway Night to the “#1 rated Open Mic night” on Mondays, the talent at Prohibition is always guaranteed great in our book. You won’t be able to stop dancing and singing to each other when sexy hits from Earth, Wind & Fire and Bruno Mars are rocking the night away.
