This Is The First Authentic Tex Mex Place in NYC
If you’ve been looking for Tex-Mex fare in the heart of New York City, you’re in luck. As New York's first authentic Tex-Mex restaurant (at least accordingly to them), Javelina brings the southern heat with tamales, taquitos, and tacos, all tucked inside a modern setting with black and white tiling, maple wood paneling, and turquoise furnishings. The owners are from Austin, so you know it's legit.
After dinner, head over to Dear Irving, a cocktail parlor with fancy-ass drinks in an upscale space. Go for one of their "fresh ink" options (aka, newest house creations) like the Glasgow Kiss with scotch, campari, sherry blend and balsamic. Important to note: if you and yours feel like recreating these cocktails at home, try one of their mixology classes.
