Secret Summer's Farm-to-Bar Cocktail Festival Is Back
Bad news! This plan has expired. Go check out some great new ideas here.
Start with a light bite (you'll want to save room for later) at John Brown Smokehouse, a casual, counter-service restaurant that specializes in Kansas City-style smoked meats, promoting a messy, hands-on dining experience. With red-and-white checkered tablecloths, exposed brick walls, and a back patio decked out in highly stylized graffiti, latticework, and vines (find a seat out here, if possible), Brooklyn meets the South in this saucy, meat-lovers mecca. Check out their specialty menu section for the real goods—namely the P.B.L.T. (it’s a B.L.T., but with pork belly and Texas toast).
After dinner, make your way to The Foundry for an event that combines a forward-thinking ideology with eclectic mixology. The Secret Summer farm-to-bar cocktail festival showcases a vast selection of unique cocktails with ingredients sourced from local farms. Be sure to order a cocktail made with Suntory Whisky Toki (it has the coolest ice spear). With live music and immersive performances, Secret Summer is an intimate experience that incorporates all of your senses inside The Foundry’s indoor/outdoor setting, complete with a courtyard, greenhouse, and Manhattan skyline views. The festival runs from 3-9 p.m.
