Do Old-World Havana & A Hidden Garden Lounge In One Night
This date has now expired. Check out fresh, new dates here!
Throw on your heels – acclaimed Chef Carl Ruiz is back with the Cuban flare at La Cubana, dishing up traditional Cuban favorites with a modern refined take. More than just a dining spot, this Meatpacking restaurant is a full on experience for the senses: a wrought iron gate, oversized chandeliers and a Spanish tile mosaiced bar harken back to old Havana, while live Latin music pumps through the room beckoning some revelry, all complementing the vintage Caribbean cocktails and vibrant dishes. The kitchen opens Monday - Saturday at 5 p.m., serving up Chef Ruiz’s favorites including ropa vieja with lamb, grits with crab meat, and empanadas with beef, spicy jackfruit or spinach and manchego cheese, and seasonal stews. The kitchen has late nights until 11 p.m. Thursday - Saturday, and the bar pours for an extra hour those nights also, until 2 a.m.
If it’s the weekend, kick it up a notch and head south a few blocks to The Patio where popular NYC DJs spin at this trendy lounge. Designed as a garden patio, the exposed brick and unique retractable roof give a rustic and sexy outdoor vibe year round. There’s usually a promo party going on, so keep an eye out for the latest one, or be sure to show up to get in line before doors open at 11 p.m. Just a few things to keep in mind! A dress code is strictly enforced, so dress to impress, and I Tre Merli is the name hanging over the door.
