This LGBTQ+ Tour of the West Village — Complete With Booze and Ice Cream! — Is a Hell of a Good Time
Bad news! This plan has expired. Go check out some great new ideas here.
Whether you fit into the LGBTQ+ umbrella or are an ally, the history of queer rights and activism is equal parts fascinating and fun. On this three-hour tour, you’ll spend the better part of your afternoon visiting the oldest gay bar in the city, eating ice cream, and of course, visiting the famous Stonewall Inn. Your tour includes an alcoholic drink at the bar and a “fancy cone” of your choice at Big Gay Ice Cream (shout-out to the Salty Pimp!), so you’ll have refreshments to keep your energy up. Speaking of energy, your guide is guaranteed to be just as pepped up as they are knowledgeable, so get ready to learn and like it.
After plenty of walking, a drink, and your ice cream aperitif have worked up an appetite, take your date over to Rasa. Specializing in Malaysian and Japanese dishes, this restaurant is casual but still chic, with bronze decor and lighting that create a warm glow. Tuck into hearty dishes like Assam fish curry, basil eggplant, or rendang beef, and wash it down with a glass of plum wine.
