Hop over to Bushwick to check out idk tonight fave House of Yes for an intimate movie experience unlike anything you’ve seen before. Tonight, interactive film collective Little Cinema presents Basquiat, a film showcasing a gritty ‘80s-era NYC where a young Jean-Michel Basquiat quickly climbed his way through the ranks of the city’s art world. Tonight’s show features music and spoken word from Brian Kelly, who was a personal friend of Basquiat’s, as well as dance, circus, jazz, crowd activations and more. Little Cinema is also famous for its “bathtub experience” — find out what our very own couple critics, Jordan and Nick, thought of it here.
After the show, get your late night grub on at a trendy new Bushwick joint. From Chef Kevin Adey (who owns nearby Faro — also an idk favorite), comes General Deb’s, a fresh take on Sichuan favorites. Start with some appetizers — this spot has tons that are perfect for sharing — followed by can’t lose mains like dan dan noodles and cumin beef. Making this evening extra adorable, the spot is named for Adey’s wife, Debbie. #Relationshipgoals.
