A Good Old Bakery + Stroll Along the High Line Date
What may look to you like an ordinary Samsung storefront is actually home to a trendy, French bakery and cafe called Maman. The store itself is pretty unique in that it’s more than just a Samsung retail shop; it’s more like an interactive museum. There are interactive art installations where you can try out augmented reality, enjoy movie screenings, and even watch live music, depending on the day. On the second floor is the cafe, which is a great casual spot for a date. And the pastries are pure perfection, and that’s no hyperbole. Trust us, they’re good.
Now that you’ve caffeinated and fed yourselves, why not take a moment to bask under the sun? Walk a few blocks over to the Highline, between 14th and 15th, and lounge at The Diller - von Furstenberg Sundeck. This spot is most notably recognized for its beautiful wetland plants and flowers lining the pathway, as well as the deck’s running water where your bare feet can soak up much-needed hydration. And of course, there are the very popular sundeck wooden chaises where you can snuggle up and people-watch all day long. The Highline is open to the public 7 a.m.-11 p.m., so plan accordingly.
