Manousheh x Jessie's Girl at (le) poisson rouge
This plan has passed! Check out fresh, new dates here.
For a taste of real Beirut in the heart of the West Village, stop in to specialty bakery Manousheh. Here, you’ll find endless iterations of Lebanon’s most famous street food, manoushe—a flatbread typically served with a generous helping of zaatar and labneh. It’s the perfect on-the-go dinner; the dough is baked until the exterior is crispy while the inside remains doughy, then spread with your selection of toppings (we like the avocado and zaatar, as well as the chicken musakkhan that pairs well with roasted chicken and caramelized onions), and finally, wrapped up for walking.
With flatbread in hand, make your way to (le) Poisson Rouge, or LPR, for a night of fun that includes comedy, DJs and the most fun 80s-cover band ever. Starting at 7:30 with Linda Loves Bingo, a comedy show-meets-bingo-tournament where players vie for prizes that range from discount-store delights to a cash jackpot. Later at 11:45 is our favorite reason to come to LPR: Back to the Eighties Show with Jessie's Girl. Every Saturday night for the last five years, crowds of ecstatic fans and newcomers alike throw on their best spandex, leg warmers, and metal gear, line up, and come downtown for an all-out celebration at this 80s themed dance party.
