Open up Your Palate at this Southern-inspired Spot with Unbeatable Bourbon Options
Bad news! This plan has expired. Go check out some great new ideas here.
First, kick things off at Maysville for some southern-inspired food. The decor is ultra chic and modern here but with a fitting southern tinge (namely the black and white sketches of horses donning the walls). That said, the real draw here is the menu. Between trout schnitzel (with oma’s potato salad, watercress, and pickled red onion), dirty rice risotto (with duck bits, pork sausage, and charred red onion), and fava bean ravioli (with morel mushrooms, green garlic, and manchego cheese), you’ll see immediately why this place is a must for New Yorkers. What’s more is that this restaurant puts as much focus on its dinner as it does on its bourbon, so be sure to pair your meal with one of its 150 different selections of American whiskey. For dessert, go all-in on the bourbon with their Maple Bourbon Creme Brulee.
After dinner, walk over to Idea Coffee for a cup of tea, decaf coffee, or one of their sweet treats to close out the night. We recommend you try the Golden Latte—it's like a chai but made with turmeric. But if you feel like Instagramming, get the lightbulb coffee. There's plenty of seating, and the wood walls, tables, and accents make it feel very cozy. The flowers hanging on the walls add a nice touch too. Come up with your next big idea together. Why not?
