In case you didn’t know, our founder is a boss lady extraordinaire. It should come as no surprise then that we’re into women’s voices being heard. Miss You Like Hell, written by Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Quiara Alegria Hudes, brings the stories of two strong women to Broadway. A fresh take on the American road story, the musical follows Olivia and her free-spirited Latina mother Beatriz as they embark on a cross country trip while threats of deportation loom. Extended for an additional week-long run, Hudes’ play depicts what joy, love, and frustration can be found in being a family in a changing country.
Post show, sate your appetite at Gyu-Kaku, a restaurant specializing in a shared Japanese barbecue experience. Here, you’re the grill master of your own dinner destiny, and you’ll choose your own cuts of beef, seafood, chicken, and vegetables to cook right at your table. For a little bit of everything, we recommend the Kalbi short rib, Harami skirt steak, mushroom medley, and the beef sukiyaki bibimbap.
