MoMA I, Tonya Screening x The Polo Bar
This date has expired! Find some new, exciting plans here.
Enjoy a screening of the Tonya Harding biopic I, Tonya at the Museum of Modern Art, then stick around for a post-screening discussion with director Craig Gillespie, screenwriter Steven Rogers, and star Allison Janney. The film explores the infamous competitive ice skater Tonya Harding’s career, and the screening is part of MoMA’s Contender 2017 series celebrating “films that resonate far beyond a theatrical release.” (FYI: the rumor mill is pegging Janney as a shoe-in for Best Supporting Actress at the Oscars.)
Once the credits have rolled and the screening commenced, head down the block for some Ralph Lauren-inspired food and vibes at The Polo Bar (yes, this is actually a Ralph Lauren bar and restaurant). The menu offers up some American classics, but if you're not in the mood for a full meal, skip the dining room downstairs and enjoy some cocktails and finger food at the bar. Chances are the infamous Tonya Harding will give you and your date plenty to talk about over drinks. Appetizers range from everything between Pigs in a Blanket to Tuna Tartare, but don't worry—you can walk off your meal in Central Park, which is just around the corner.
