Lead With Your Hips — All the Way Over to This Top-Notch Salsa Night in Chelsea

  • Dance
  • Drinks

  • Music

Start your week with swaying hips and sultry sounds at the swanky Chelsea lounge Taj, where Monday is "Salsa Night." Dancer and 2013 Carnival host Talia Castro-Pozo leads you and your dance partner through the evening’s events, starting with dinner, drinks, and tapas and ending with live music and salsa dancing. Teaching dance for over 14 years at places such as Lincoln Center, Columbia University, and Joffrey Ballet School, Talia will have you trading in your two left feet for figure 8’s in no time. Doors open at 5 p.m., and lessons begin at 7 p.m.

When you and your dance partner are done kicking up your heels, lead with your hips and head to Tia Pol for sangria and more Spanish flare. Share Basque small plates like patatas bravas, jamon serrano, and tortilla Espanola at what’s been called the best traditional Spanish restaurant in town. With its rustic decor and intimate seating, we think the ambiance is pretty top-notch too.
