Classical Music Gets A Modern Update, Plus Game-Changing Thai in Williamsburg
You and your person are headed to National Sawdust in Williamsburg—the spot where classical music gets a modern update. Each year, National Sawdust seeks out emerging and established local Brooklyn artists to participate in their Summer Lab series. The chosen artists are given four hours of time in their state-of-the-art venue to develop music-based works. Then, each selected artist receives 30 minutes of performance time on National Sawdust’s stage, and successful performances are considered for future programming in the venue. Check out their calendar here to see what's on deck.
After, head to Sea for great ambiance and even better Thai. While landlocked, Sea boasts an on-premise reflecting pool. Grab a seat pond-side in two of the floating chairs and order traditional Thai classics like Tim Tum Fritters and Triangle Curry Puffs. With large portions and fast service, Sea is a gamechanger, offering a welcome solution to classing up casual date nights.
