It’s breakfast for dinner tonight at Dream Downtown’s newest outpost Natura Cafe. Created by the team behind Tao, Vandal, Lavo, and more, this California-style café and coffee shop is serving breakfast classics all night long. Indulge in sweet dishes like the fluffy soufflé pancakes—made by whipping meringue in the batter and an absolute must-order—or the breakfast sandwich. If you’re in more of a dinner mood, then feast on staples like the grilled skirt steak served with chimichurri or the cafe burger. Once you’ve eaten until you can’t eat anymore, walk a few blocks down to Bathtub Gin.
Bathtub Gin is one of Chelsea's hidden gems—quite literally. This speakeasy-style bar is 'hidden' behind a coffee shop and is marked only by a red light on a nondescript door. Stepping through the bar takes you back to the 1920s with copper colored ceilings, fringe-covered lamps, and most importantly—right in the center of the room—a glass-covered, clawfoot bathtub. Thursday nights are party nights with DJs and dancing. If you love the bar and want to go back for a more specialized experience, Mondays are Jazz nights, and on Tuesdays and Sundays they have an fantastic Burlesque show.
