Newfest x Foragers Table
This plan has unfortunately expired! See what's new here.
Foragers Table is an upscale, mega-healthy American restaurant in Chelsea. It's an offshoot of the successful grocery store in DUMBO, and everything tastes like it was recently plucked from the ground, not just store shelves. It's an all-around excellent date spot because everyone walks out feeling great, both from the food and the warm atmosphere — a warning though, some dishes are pricey because you're paying for the good stuff.
After your meal, walk to the SVA Theater for NewFest, an LGBT film festival in its 29th year. The six-day festival features over 140 films, panels, and parties that shine a light on the LGBT experience from October 19th-24th. Tonight at 7:30 p.m. we recommend seeing the International Center Piece pick, God’s Own Country. Synopsis: "A farmer’s son and a soulful migrant worker begin a steamy, tumultuous relationship in the beautiful English countryside in this textured, gorgeously wrought masterpiece. Winner of Sundance’s World Cinema Directing Award for its beautiful depiction of the English countryside—this assured new milestone marks a bold new epoch in textured, LGBTQ storytelling."
