Nickel & Diner has a $68/person prix fixe with 4 courses this Thanksgiving. For the first course, you have the option between roasted heirloom squash salad, hamachi tartare, fried chicken or pumpkin curry soup. Course number two offers chestnut pappardelle, grilled Spanish octopus, caramelized sea scallops and black truffle risotto. And for the final course before dessert comes the heavy hitters. Crispy skin striped bass, spicy shrimp a la plancha, market vegetables, braised short rib, roasted turkey, crispy duck duo or a dry-aged NY Strip. Dessert is either pumpkin mousse cake or warm plum tart.
After dinner, head to The Metrograph for a Thanksgiving flick. Playing tonight: On The Beach At Night Alone (2017) directed by South Korean auteur, Hong Sang-Soo at 8:45 p.m., Vengeance Is Mine (1979), about serial killer Akira Nishiguchi’s 1963 murder spree at 6:00 p.m., Wet Woman in the Wind (2016), a “ free-associative slapstick sex comedy that includes a burlesqued threesome and a coupling that literally brings down the house” at 10:30 p.m. and Videodrome (1983) starring James Woods and Debbie Harry at 8:45 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
