No, But What’s Your Real Job x Phebe’s
This plan has unfortunately expired! See what's new here.
If you and your date have been burned before by stale open mics, then you can rest easy knowing “No, But What’s Your Real Job?” prides itself on bringing in actual comics who are some of NYC’s funniest. The show is hosted bimonthly by Abby Washuta, a seasoned comic who’s performed at The Lantern, QED, and The Stand. The lineup is ever changing but features both up-and-coming comic and the occasional celebrity drop-in, so you never know who you’ll get to see. The show is at New York Comedy Club, and between their efficient servers bringing you drinks (or something from their list of creative mocktails!) and the closely packed tables, you’ll feel like you’re laughing it up with old friends.
After the show, grab a late night dinner at Phebe’s, a spacious hangout with all the comfort food you could want. This place feels a step above your usual pub, with its open floor plan and many hanging plants giving a homey vibe while the exposed brick and chipping white-washed wood adds a sort-of charm. Though the food isn’t fancy, they have a wide variety of American staples done well, so you can get your chicken parm slider fix even if your date wants to treat themselves to the strip steak.
