Obsession: Nudes at the Met Breuer x Come Prima x Laduree
Bad news! This plan has expired. Go check out some great new ideas here.
Happy One Year Anniversary to… ourselves! Since idk tonight is celebrating a full 365 days of life after the swipe, we’ve got a pretty spectacular night planned for you (if we do say so ourselves) on the Upper East Side. That's 1,095 plans in this great city published. And here's one more!
First, art. The Met Breuer is hosting a deeply intimate exhibition that highlights the naked body called Obsession: Nudes. With work from Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, and Pablo Picasso, this is the perfect visual appetizer for an evening celebrating all things love and lust. It’s a refreshing reminder of how beautiful the human body really is (which is especially on-brand tonight). General admission is $25.
Second, dinner. We’ve chosen an upscale Italian restaurant called Come Prima Ristorante that checks all the boxes of tonight’s theme: it’s chic, but charming; upscale, but intimate; simple, but sophisticated. With a solely white and black palette (with black crown molding and coffered ceilings, white dining chairs and walls, and even vintage black and white photography celebrating history and romance), this elegant restaurant is a perfect love letter to the simple beauty of wild, unbounded passion.
And, finally, something sweet. Quite possibly the most charming pâtisserie in Manhattan, Ladurée New York Madison was made for date night. It was fashioned after Parisian tea rooms and includes velvet floral seating, gold and pastel accents, and nods to its Victorian Era influence with portraits of the French royal family. If you don’t leave with a sugar high, you’re doing it wrong. Just keep in mind that they close at 7 p.m., so, depending on what time you go out tonight, you may opt for dessert before dinner.
