Qi x The Halloween Masquerade Ball
Bad news! This plan has expired. Go check out some great new ideas here.
First, start off at Qi. This Thai restaurant is all about the ambience, with eclectic decor that channels all the way back to its Southeast Asian roots. There’s Chinoiserie porcelain vases lining the walls, a bold stark white aesthetic, and some crazy complex lunar pendant bulbs that seriously may as well be floating, glowing jellyfish. And, while most of their entrees stick with tradition, there’s some noticeable elevation in dishes like the Bangkok Chicken Pumpkin Curry and their house Pad Thai (which goes all-in on seafood, and then adds unexpected pops of flavor with mango and brown tofu all wrapped in an egg white crepe).
After dinner, allow the night to take a turn for the wonderfully weird. At the 2018 Halloween Masquerade Ball, you and your S.O. will celebrate all things Halloween—only, instead of ghouls and goblins, you’ll be surrounded by Venetian debauchery and highly stylized sensuality. Inspired by the Carnival of Venice in the early 20th century, as well as Stanley Kubrick’s salacious Eyes Wide Shut, this masquerade ball—inside Stage 48’s modern ballroom setting—invites romantics (who aren’t afraid of their dark sides) to celebrate the intimate masked affair with a celebrity DJ, drinks, and dancing. General Admission is $29, but they also offer VIP packages that go as high as $995.
