Raviolo x The Jen & Jimmy Show
Bad news! This plan has expired. Go check out some great new ideas here.
The best thing since Forrest Gump's line about that box of chocolates: “Life is a combination of magic and pasta”. That's what the giant neon sign says on one wall of Italian dim sum space, Raviolo. Though it sounds like fusion, they want you to know it's not. They serve Italian dishes through and through – the've just invented a different preparation. We love it because instead of ordering one type of pasta (and maybe getting a bite or two of your dates), you can try several through their tapas style.
You’ve got to try the conjun with mashed cod and potato wrapped up in their squid ink pasta and served with Aioli, or the parmigiana with eggplant, tomato, and basil in their carrot pasta topped with parmesan and served with pecorino fondue. Their gin & tonic situation is also a high point — they have five different kinds/combinations. Get the rose, cucumber and lime peel to lighten up an otherwise very heavy meal.
Before or after dinner (depending on your #SeniorStatus), you're off to the Jen & Jimmy Show at Cornelia Street Cafe, one of our favorite neighborhood-y restaurants and underground performance spaces. The Jen & Jimmy Show stars comedians and best friends, Jen Lap and Jimmy Schatz. $10 gets you in and gets you a drink. The show starts at 6 p.m. Comedy and carbs, folks. It's always a good idea.
