This East Village Dive Bar Is So Weird And Yet We Love It
Tonight’s M.O. is all about staying cozy and low-key. Start with a Southern-twinged dinner at root & bone, where conscientiously sourced, seasonal ingredients are the name of the game. The space is small and has limited reservations, but the food is worth the wait. Go for the cheese grits, drunken deviled eggs or their super-hyped version of fried chicken, and indulge in true Southern comfort.
After dinner, hop over to The Library, one of the divest dive bars ever. The space is lit by red lanterns, the walls are lined with books and the general atmosphere is that of a warm yet edgy study room. We love the niche/cult movies projecting on the bar's back wall and the 70s/80s punk rock music. This place is so weird, but we kind of love it.
