To stave off any potential hunger pangs, start the evening off at San Marzano, a charming Italian bar and bistro offering up rustic digs, fresh pasta made in-house, and paninis. There’s a kind of modern/classic hybrid feel here with the mix of subway tiled walls and distressed wooden fixtures and panelling, complementing options like the gluten-free tagliatelle and wild boar ragu.
After dinner, head over to The Public Theater for a showing of Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Bruce Norris’ The Low Road. Directed by Tony nominee Michael Greif (Dear Evan Hansen), this show is all about examining and dissecting American culture, and the core mindset upon which it was built. So far, the reviews are stellar. Tickets start $75, and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.
