Take A Ride On This Gorgeous Iridescent Glass Fish Carousel
The SeaGlass carousel at the Battery Park Conservancy is not your average carousel. This 2,575 square foot pavilion houses gorgeous, giant iridescent glass fish that you can ride in. Instead of the traditional pole at the center of a merry-go-round, the turntables moving the fish are driven by engines below the floor. This all culminates in a mesmerizing dance, a chambered nautilus, with glowing lights that mimic what it looks like underwater. You can buy your tickets for just $5 at the carousel, and while you might be one of the only adults in there, you can marvel with childlike wonder at this magical machine.
Continue the magic at Battery Gardens, an upscale dining experience, just a few steps away from the carousel that offers a killer view of the water and the Statue of Liberty. Watch the sunset through the large open windows as you dine on American classics like pan seared halibut and New York sirloin. They also have a harbor view bar, perfect for gazing out at the view with a Cucumber Cooler or Honey Deuce in hand.
