Head To Symphony Space On the UWS For Comedy, Music, Readings & More
While a Monday date night may sound ambitious, Bar Thalia on the Upper West Side will help you ease into your week with a heavy pour of wine and culture. Owned and operated by Symphony Space—a multi-disciplinary performing arts organization—Bar Thalia provides an intimate setting in which to enjoy comedy nights, live music, literary readings, and jazz open mic nights. On Mondays, on- and off-Broadway veteran D’Ambrose Boyd hosts Singers Space, where New York’s professional and aspiring singers perform a cabaret. Beginning at 8:30pm, you can sit back, order a drink, and take in the vocal stylings of Broadway’s rising stars while you dine. See all upcoming Symphony Space events here.
After the show, grab a nightcap at Vino Levantino. You’ll choose from wines sourced from boutique wineries in France, Italy, Portugal, and Turkey. If you still fancy a bite, the Mediterranean dishes don’t disappoint. Come for happy hour, when select bottles of wine are just $28. On the other end of the spectrum, they also close late for this sleepy section of the UWS. Closing time is midnight on weekdays, so you can duck in for a last glass of red.
