See An Underrated, Important Show at Soho Playhouse
A dinner-drinks date with your love is great, but every once in a while it's so important to have an intellectually stimulating time with your person. Head to the SoHo Playhouse for whatever's currently on the mainstage. Over a decade ago, they opened with the mission to keep Off-Broadway alive. The Playhouse has always supported and encouraged experimentation from actors, producers, and playwrights—resulting in seriously beautiful works of art that we—very priveleged New Yorkers—get to consume.
Then, head over to Michelin-approved Ciccio, a neighborhood alimentari just a minute away from the Playhouse. It's simple, elegant and authentic Tuscan-Florentine fare here. They exemplify the Tuscan idea that "a full stomach comforts the soul"—where better to discuss and work through everything you just saw. The restaurant is housed in a former antique store that now sports a raw look through whitewashed brick walls and blonde wood tables. Order some of their delicious home-made pasta, a glass of wine, and spend the rest of the evening having an incredible conversation with your love.
