Steve Schapiro: Heroic Times x Tao Uptown
Bad news! This plan has expired. Go check out some great new ideas here.
It’s time to take a stroll together down memory lane. The Howard Greenberg Gallery is showcasing photographer Steve Schapiro in an exhibition titled Steve Schapiro: Heroic Times, and while this date night not be your traditional dinner/movie twofer, it’ll give you plenty to look at (you know, when you’re not looking at each other). Schapiro photographed historical milestones, covering everyone from Andy Warhol to Martin Luther King Jr. and chronicling major moments in US history. The exhibit is open through January 27th.
Next up: Tao Uptown. This lavish, Asian fusion restaurant is known for two things: 1) delicious food and 2) its giant, golden Buddha statue overlooking the dining room while you eat (sounds creepy, but it’s not). This 19th century stable-turned-movie theater-turned-restaurant takes visual cues from ancient Asian temples, combining an authentic, traditional atmosphere with a chic, New York City vibe.
