Strong Rope Brewery x Outdoor Cinema by Parklife
Bad news! This plan has expired. Go check out some great new ideas here.
Start tonight at Strong Rope Brewery—a no-frills, high-quality Brooklyn-based microbrewery. The tap room is small and cozy, with a bar made from wood salvaged from the damaged trees that remained after Hurricane Sandy, and hosts just a few tables and bar stools. The local team is committed to producing beers that are crafted with all New York-based ingredients and is the only brewery in New York City using exclusively in-state ingredients. The spot is pretty well-known for its award-winning dark beers, ranging from a brown ale to imperial porters and stouts. The selection of drafts leans toward English ales; bitter beers, golden ales, IPAs, pale ales, stouts, and imperial blondes are all styles you might find on rotation.
There's nothing that feels more summer than sitting outside, snuggled up under the moon, sipping wine and watching a movie with your date at an outdoor cinema. Parklife is a 4000 square foot oasis of outdoor space, drinks, and food in the heart of Gowanus and this summer their garden will play host to an Outdoor Cinema. On the screening rotation, you'll be able to catch 80's and 90's cult hits like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, 10 Things I Hate About You, Dazed and Confused, and Indiana Jones. You really can't go wrong here, with a full bar serving up craft cocktails like the Cactus Cooler (green chartreuse, pineapple, orange, pomegranate molasses drizzle) or Papa Dobles (rum, maraschino, grapefruit, lime) plus a taco menu by Antojitos El Atoradero, including blue corn tortillas made fresh from scratch every day. The outdoor cinema runs through Sep 25, every Wednesday at sundown (weather permitting).
