Get Buzzed and Visit an Impressively Modern Type of Restaurant in the Flatiron District

Coffee lovers, meet your new favorite place to get buzzed. Telegraphe Cafe is a small, modern espresso bar that keeps it simple and earns some serious java fans in return. We have quite the impressive dinner coming up next, so we picked a cafe as part I to this date to properly energize you both.

After you're thoroughly buzzed, put that energy into a good place, namely Bouley at Home. This place is more than just a restaurant, it's "an immersive and educational community of health and nutrition" says Chef David Bouley. Not only is there a standard dining room to enjoy dinner, there's also a food lab, a cooking school, and a bake shop under the same roof. There are just 24 seats for the eight- to 10-course-dinner tasting menu ($225/person). All the cooks double as servers for optimum communication, and each seat has its own drawer with silverware for you to choose as you wish. The restaurant operates Tuesday to Saturday, and cooking classes are held Sundays and Mondays. Instead of traditional reservations, Chef Bouley has set up his own ticketing system on his website for prepaid seats at eight time slots throughout the evening. Walk-ins welcome if there is room.
