Teo x Cobra Club
Bad news! This plan has expired. Go check out some great new ideas here.
If you’ve got a craving for izakaya in Bushwick, follow your heart (or rather, your stomach), to the relatively new Teo. This restaurant, led by the former chef of Brooklyn Star, serves up casual Japanese food at stellar prices. The space is small with touches of personalization, from the floral wallpaper to the hanging plants, that make the open kitchen, filled with bantering chefs, feel all the more natural. There are a number of small plates, so you can load up on the Taro Root Nest or grilled short ribs, though there’s always a bowl of duck leg ramen if you need to slurp on something heartier.
Stride over to Cobra Club for bar games and the best hipster watching in Brooklyn. Cafe and yoga studio by day and bar plus event space at night, the functions of this hangout are as varied as it’s clientele. The vibe is hip, with the bar basically serving as a casting ground for the characters of High Maintenance. They have a great selection of beers on tap (and a white wine tap!) So grab a brew and hang out around the pool table arguing over who goes first. If you’re lucky, they might have leftover Dough doughnuts so you can finish off your night in a sugar rush.
