The CopperPot x Brooklyn Ice House

Bad news! This plan has expired. Go check out some great new ideas here.

Welcome to Red Hook, a treasure trove of good food, stellar cocktails, cool vibes, and no crowds. The CopperPot, a relatively new kid on the block, is no exception to this rule—with a full draft cocktail and beer menu it's a solid spot for drinks and dinner. It's upscale casual American fare with Central and South American flavors. Think mains like a 7 spice roasted half chicken (served with sweet potato mash and grilled winter squash), and waffle fried chicken (buttermilk waffle battered chicken, kohlrabi carrot slaw and house-made blueberry syrup). The friendly team adds to the warm and homey atmosphere, and with the upscale contemporary aesthetic—it’s a perfect execution of the elegant but rustic farmhouse vibe.

Some originally argued that Red Hook lost a foundational dive when Bait & Tackle (who originally held down the fort at this location) closed in 2018. But, Brooklyn Ice House didn’t disappoint when they took over the reins. The outdoor smoker is still serving up some of the best, bargain pulled-pork sandwiches in the area. You’ll also still find the onion rings, cheeseburgers, and cold beer (choose from 30-plus affordable brews) its predecessor was much loved for. The decor is delightfully mismatched, and their stash of board games are somewhat comfortingly stained with sauces and drink spills—a sign of good times had. The spacious yard (yes spacious, you’re not in NYC anymore) features casual bench seating and a fire pit for when the light suddenly disappears and you realize you’ve been sitting there all evening.
